Brad Everett Young, Actor and Photographer, Dies at 46
Brad Everett Young, an actor who appeared on shows like Grey’s Anatomy and a celebrated celebrity photographer, has died at age 46 following a car accident in Los Angeles.
Young’s publicist, Paul Christensen, confirmed to USA TODAY that the actor and photographer died Monday, Sept. 15, from injuries sustained in a late-night traffic collision. The crash occurred on the 134 Freeway on Sunday, Sept. 14, when another vehicle traveling the wrong direction struck Young’s car.
A Life Devoted to Storytelling
Born in Virginia, Young pursued a career in entertainment beginning in the 1990s. He secured roles in popular television series including Grey’s Anatomy, Charmed, Numb3rs, and Felicity. He also made appearances on the big screen, with credits in 2000’s Charlie’s Angels and 1997’s The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
In recent years, however, Young shifted focus toward photography, quickly gaining recognition for his distinctive celebrity portraits. His work appeared in major publications such as Vanity Fair, People, and Vogue. He photographed a wide range of Hollywood stars, including David Harbour, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and other high-profile figures at premieres, galas, and red carpet events.
Through his lens, Young captured not only the polished glamour of celebrity life but also candid and deeply human moments. His artistry earned him respect in both the entertainment and photography communities.
Founder of Dream Loud Official
Beyond acting and photography, Young dedicated himself to activism and arts advocacy. He co-founded Dream Loud Official, a grassroots project aimed at restoring and preserving arts programs in schools across the United States.
The initiative sought to inspire students, teachers, and working artists to keep creativity alive, even as arts education faced funding challenges nationwide.
“Brad's passion for both the arts and the people behind them was unmatched,” Christensen said in a statement. “He lived his mission of keeping creativity alive, and his legacy will continue through Dream Loud Official.”
Tributes From Fans and Friends
Young’s death has sparked an outpouring of tributes from friends, fans, and colleagues in both acting and photography. Many praised his enthusiasm for art and his generosity in mentoring young creatives.
While his career included diverse accomplishments, those who knew him say his greatest impact may lie in the encouragement and opportunities he created for others. At just 46, Brad Everett Young leaves behind a legacy of creativity, activism, and artistic dedication that spanned film, television, and photography.
