Just when we thought Girl Scout Cookie season couldn't get any more dangerous to our wallets, our dogs have gotten involved.

Girl Scouts is adding two brand-new treats to its 2027 lineup. One is a colorful oatmeal chocolate chip cookie designed with certain food allergies in mind. The other is for the family member who's been staring hopefully at our box of Thin Mints all these years. Girl Scouts has officially made a cookie for dogs.

Girl Scouts revealed the two new treats on September 8th. For the first time, the annual cookie sale will include something our pups can eat, while a separate newcomer will give people with dietary restrictions a chance to join in.

So, the new flavors joining Girl Scout Cookies for 2027 will be doing something a little bit different than the usual additions.

Patch Pals Are for the Dogs

The Patch Pals dog treat from Girl Scouts was developed with pet company BARK. They helped create Patch Pals, a blueberry-flavored snack for pups that comes decorated with four different designs inspired by Girl Scouting.

So, while we're working our way through our box of Samoas, our pups can finally have a Girl Scout box of their own. Although, sharing ours was never really on the table. Chocolate and dogs remain a terrible combination.

Sparkables Give More People a Cookie Option

The other newcomer looks a little more like what we'd expect to find in our annual Girl Scout Cookie haul. The Girl Scout Sparkables allergy-friendly cookie is a crunchy oatmeal cookie filled with chocolate chips and colorful sprinkles.

Girl Scouts developed it with Partake, and it's produced in a facility that avoids nine major food allergens. The Girl Scout cookies are gluten-free and vegan, and they're also made without peanuts or tree nuts. That gives more families a chance to partake in a tradition that hasn't always offered an option for every dietary need.

When Can We Order Them?

The Girl Scout Cookie season in 2027 will launch on January 12th, although local cookie-season schedules can vary. That's also when Patch Pals and Sparkables become available online for direct shipping.

And don't worry. The newcomers aren't kicking the classics out of the cookie cupboard. Familiar favorites like Thin Mints, Samoas, Caramel deLites, Tagalongs, and Peanut Butter Patties will also return.
